Power plants are regulated to remove sulfur emissions from flue gas, a by-product generated in coal combustion. The most common method used in flue gas desulfurization (FGD), is wet-scrubbing - a highly effective process resulting in FGD wastewater. Due to a myriad of inputs effecting FGD wastewater composition, treatment must be able to handle these variables, yet meet discharge permit requirements. Ovivo designs systems that treat FGD wastewater fluctuations while adhering to regulations.

Clarifier
Sedimentation has been the mainstay process for solid-liquid separation in the wastewater industry since its inception.

Dewatering
After wastewater treatment, the remaining sludge contains a very high in water content that needs to be removed using sludge dewatering.

Mixer
Coagulation/Flocculation is the process of creating conditions for particulates to come together to form flocs of solids and then settle in treated water.

Reactor Clarifier
Ovivo solids contact clarifiers combine mixing, flocculation, coagulation, settling and clarification into a single clarification/sedimentation unit.

Thickener
When wastewater is treated, sludge is produced. Thickening increases the solids content of sludge to be disposed of.

Thickener
When wastewater is treated, sludge is produced. Thickening increases the solids content of sludge for easier removal and disposal of the sludge product.
